Healthier Dining Innovation (HDI)
The Healthier Dining Innovation (HDI) is a funding scheme of up to S$5,000 for F&B operators to take their first step towards capability upgrading in four areas:
(i) Research & Development
(ii) Purchase of Healthier Ingredients
(iii) Culinary Training
(iv) Recipe Reformulation
F&B operators which have ≥3 outlets operating in the following types of F&B establishments may apply for the HDI to develop healthier food and drink options according to the Healthier Dining Programme (HDP) nutrition guidelines:
(ii) Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs)
(iii) Cafes (Food Partners and/or Beverage Partners)
(iv) Kiosks (Food Partners and/or Beverage Partners)
(v) Chains (Food Partners and/or Beverage Partners)
(vii) Institutional Caterers
(viii) Event Caterers ( ≥3 or more ordering platforms, e.g. website, phone, email, mobile app)
(ix) Digital F&B Operators ( ≥3 or more ordering platforms, e.g. website, phone, email, mobile app)
The Healthier Dining Programme (HDP) team will assess the application based on your needs, the qualifying areas, and competency of the product/service provider in improving your business capabilities. All applications are subject to the HDP team’s approval.

Here are the steps you can take when applying for HDI:
(i) Visit the HDI webpage to access the list of supportable activities and identify relevant activities that best suit your business needs.
(ii) For healthier cooking oil, wholegrain rice/noodles, lower-sugar drinks/sauces/desserts, get a quotation from the Healthier Ingredient Supplier(s). For other products and services, source for the product/service and get a quotation from the vendor. For price reasonableness, please provide a comparison with past purchase price or alternative quote from at least one (1) other supplier.
Please prepare the following documents for HDI grant claims:
(i) Giro Form – For first-time grant applicants, please download and fill up the GIRO form for a one-time set up of the GIRO account.
(i) Progress/Final Report & Grant Claim Form – Provide a summary of the overall capability developed as a result of the project, and the costs incurred.
(iii) Supporting Documents for Cost Items – Invoices, Receipts, Delivery Orders, Photos (if applicable).
Please ensure the actual expenses stated in your claim summary table (excluding GST) correspond with the amount in the supporting documents, and the invoices are addressed to your company. If the supporting document includes items you are not claiming for, please highlight only those that you are claiming for.
Upon the complete receipt of both the Progress/Final Report and the Supporting Documents, the HDP team will proceed to process the grant disbursement. Please mail the documents via registered mail to:
